A SALUTE TO THE GREAT AMERICAN COWBOY
"Buck Taylor and Friends"

From the Silver Dollar City brochure: "Some folks remember when the west was wild and free, some have fond childhood memories of playing cowboy and some actually lived the dream. It is those special moments in life that are never forgotten and tie us all together. So saddle up your crew and head west...to the Midwest for a salute to a great American icon, the cowboy!"
Gunsmoke's Buck Taylor hosted stars of America's favorite westerns at Silver Dollar City, which is located in Branson, Missouri. Trick riders and ropers, rodeo stars with trick-performing bulls, a tribute to John Wayne, cowboy poet Waddie Mitchell and the palomino-riding Sons of Tennessee are part of the western entertainment. The festival also presented hundreds of musicians playing bluegrass, string band, country and gospel, and visiting craftsmen demonstrating America's most unique crafts.
Buck Taylor was there for the duration of the salute, from Sep 8-Oct 29, 2005. Appearing with him in shifts of a day or two at a time were: Peter on Sep 10, Stella Stevens on Sep 14-16, Alex Cord on Sep 17-18, Anne Lockhart on Oct 1, Kim Darby on Oct 8, Robert Fuller on Oct 15 and Johnny Western on Oct 22.
Thanks to Peter's wife (then lady friend) Kerstin for the photos.
